My decision to never buy pancake mix again was made after trying this recipe. Using the mix or making pancakes from scratch is equally simple. Although it may be tempting to just add water, this traditional pancake recipe yields the lightest and fluffiest pancakes I’ve ever attempted. Their texture is very thick, yet they are airy and delicate.
What are pancakes?
A basic mixture consisting of flour, eggs, milk, and a leavening agent such as baking powder is used to make pancakes, a favorite breakfast item. When cooked, they are usually fluffy, circular, and golden brown when cooked on a griddle or frying pan. Pancakes are a very adaptable and popular dish that may be topped with a wide range of ingredients, such as butter, syrup, fruit, whipped cream, or nuts.
Topping Ideas
These are some amazing pancake topping ideas that work well for these pancakes:
- Maple Syrup
- Fresh Berries
- Greek Yogurt
- Nut Butter
- Honey
- Chopped Nuts: Sprinkle some chopped nuts, like almonds or walnuts for a nice crunch.

Directions
To make amazing pancakes and this recipe shows you just how to make these.
The dry ingredients are mixed together to create the lightest, fluffiest pancakes possible. This results in a smooth and silky batter by preventing the formation of lumps.
I combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a sieve. After that, stir in the wet ingredients until the batter is smooth. I put the skillet on the burner to heat over medium heat and let my batter rest for a few minutes, approximately five.
Spoon batter onto the heated, well-oiled skillet using a ⅓ cup measure, then cover.
Cook over medium-low heat until tops of the pancakes begin to bubble. When bubbles appear, it's necessary to flip them. After cooking them uncovered for a few minutes, you're done.
Repeat until you have used up all of the batter. Top with your preferred toppings and serve warm.
Conclusion
When presenting pancakes, I always serve them with fresh fruit, but when you make them smaller, homemade pancakes can make a fantastic Sunday brunch alongside freshly cooked bacon and eggs.
